First national museum dedicated entirely to the universe of comics and illustration. Located in a building from the middle of the 19th century, the Museum proposes a journey through the history of comics and their protagonists, through the different stages of the medium: publishers, authors, schools and trends, language evolution, etc. All this through more than a thousand headings and original drawings that illustrate a history that dates back 150 years.
The Museum has the largest documentary collection in the country: Satirical Press, Weeklies, Children’s Press, books for girls and adventure books, Magazines, Graphic Novel, Original Plates, etc. An archive of about 30,000 units, of which more than 2,000 belong to original work.
It is the result of the union of several private collections, of a work of tracking and research over dozens of years that today converge in this first Museum of vignette and illustration to the maximum historical extent of both media.
