Sample dedicated to one of the most recognized and popular cartoonists of all time: the great Francisco Ibáñez.
Exhibition honoring the creator of series as iconic as Mort & Phil, 13 rue del Percebe, El botones Sacarino, Rompetechos or Pepe Gotera y Otilio, among others.
The exhibition consists of:
Five panels with texts and images that explain the professional career of the Barcelona author.
Showcases, in which the visitor can enjoy a wide selection of publications in which Francisco Ibáñez’s signature appeared, from its beginnings in 1952 to 2019. Other showcases show examples of various merchandising generated by the author’s series.
In total, the exhibition displays about 150 objects, including magazines, books and promotional objects. The best way for the visitor to learn about Ibáñez’s huge production and his evolution as an author.
The wide representation of original drawings deserves special mention.
A total of 30 plates, including a first-period self-portrait, character studies and various covers and comic pages starring most of its great characters: Kokolo, Curiosidades y rarezas de todo el mundo, Los tres mosquitos, Mort & Phil, Rompetechos, Don Pedrito, Doña Pura y Doña Pera, Pepsi Man, El doctor Esparadrapo y su ayudante Gazapo, etc.
